Country Cup 2020 Design Thread

Hi all! I know that Team Cup is still running, however it's only just a little over a month to the start of country cup and the longer people can argue about good stages it's probably the better so hopefully we have less issues with stages after start of comp. So that said, plz comment your suggestions for stages.

A few of my own:

AMD ycruncher 1b 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 core cpus or alternatively if am3 is too old then we can do 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 core amd

Port Royal x number of scores

7 zip no hedt

I think 4k x265 on something like Allendale could be fun. Or maybe 2500±sandy bridge 4k

Hmm x265 1080p single core 5x cpus (no socket limitations, can use socket twice)

AMD Sempron, socket A/754/939/AM2 and so on for 2D. They are cheap.

1. HWBOT X265 1080P 4-core non-HT 115x (divided by socket)

Yes, es cpus allowed  with no limitations on socket or cpus used. If you have your own access to a 9282 that's on you lol

IMHO we should try and bench as much benches with BenchMate as we can,so maybe CB15 or 20 with BM for AMD divided by core count, WP with BM for 5 intel sockets, etc...

Do we know when it's going to start? Typically it's like November 1st but I thought end of last country cup we decided we'd push it forward two weeks so it can end before Christmas and new years

we can do start October 20th or even let it continue into 2021 like 15th of January.

Should end this year, to be CC for 2020. Before Christmas would be preferred.

Five Stages max, as it becomes difficult to track who is doing what :))).

Please do not choose obscure stages, leave those for team cup competition.

Yes maybe cheap one but if you buy 10 pieces is not that cheap

Agreed, I think that do like 3 BM stages and then do an x265 and a ycruncher stage which are fairly secure so that those people who cannot stand BM can still run something (gotta pretend we want to be fair to the aussies )

Starting the 20th is only 17 days away, and we are only discussing about it now. Just me or does this sound a little rushed

I agree with Suzuki, end this year, but maybe say end December 31 ??
Five stages in a time when many people can not still travel, even somewhat locally, is going to be enough IMO
Lets keep to benches that we have used in the past.
 

In the past the hardware required has always been a balanced mixture of some newer stuff and slightly older stuff. Lets try to keep it something similar I ask.

Benchmate just works if you know how to install os, so I propose we do benchmate stages for at least half. If the aussies wanna bitch that's their loss.

Let's face it. Benchmate, no Benchmate, this year will be a challenge considering our regular meet up is questionable this year due to COVID-19.

 

BUT trust me, this will ensure we try even harder.

Because it prevents cheat

More realistically probably because people can't figure out how to get it to work, because they like to run super stripped os so installing prerequisites like dotnet and updates on w7 scares them

It needs to be made complete and stupid easy. All prerequisites included.

Nobody likes to fuck with programs for hours before they can bench.

Not meant to be offensive sounding either mat, I like GPUPI as a bench. It just sucks ass to set up and get running.

Not sure what you mean, 8700k and 9900k not even an error with Benchmate. 

I had a weird behaviour when cb15 was given quatum pc scores. (4000 maxxmem)
