It's not only about raw frequency... that's were you rule, show 32M, Geekbenches,... Also inhouse OCers were not allowed by Corsair. Neither were OCers tied to a specific memory brand.

Anyway many of the listed competitors have high level of expertise in live and online competitions over the past years. The Top 3 of the DDR4 Open OC compo were automatically selected.  Did you show your magic there ?

Last but not least, a few others got selected for their great content creation skills and their efforts to boost the OC community.

Dont worry bro, they are just trying to give the rest of us a chance of winning by excluding Asia.

Hi, Question :

1) All participants must use commercially available components and software (Engineering Samples and Biosses are not allowed).

Can you help elaborate, is this means OFFICIAL BIOS & XOC Tools on the website only?

or both tools and BIOSes just need to be available here on HWBOT before competition start?

2) All participants have to use the same platform (CPU & motherboard) for all stages.

This means the exact same motherboard and same CPUs? or just same chipset and CPUs?

(e.g If I use Z690 UNIFY-X and 12900K, will I be allowed to use Z690 APEX + 12900K later?)

Thanks :D

If the biosses and tools are shared here it's fine, but they must be available as soon as possible. Thus not submitting a score an hour before the end and officialising the bios a bit later. That score will not be accepted to enter.

How about that the used Biosses/tools need to be available the latest 10 days before the end of the competition?

We did one board type Alva before, so we stick to it....

Cool - I'm ok with 10 days before end, that's plenty.

Thanks for confirming same one board + one cpu type, similar to Open DDR4 comps then :)

So guys plz be carefull if you plan to use BartX heatspreaders. Peter had major issues, probably related to too thick thermal pads.

Yes bad experience for me - I think 1.5mm pad at back is too thick putting pressure on PMIC. No obvious physical damage on components, but they pushed right through the 0.5mm pad on the front :(

We got word from Corsair for the prizes:

1st place – $1000.00 - AX1600i PSU, MP600 PRO XT 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, K70 RGB PRO Keyboard, M65 RGB Ultra Mouse (wired)

2nd place – $500.00 - HX1200 PSU, MP600 PRO XT 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, K70 RGB PRO Keyboard, M65 RGB Ultra Mouse (wired)

3rd place – $250.00 - HX1200 PSU, K70 RGB PRO Keyboard, M65 RGB Ultra Mouse (wired)

Sticks for the Euro contenders will be shipped tomorrow  (10/03), so expect them early next week.

We are proposing Corsair to start with the compo on the 16-03 and allow the compo to run till end of April 2022. Roman wants to keep it in 3 stacked stages, first stage will run for 3 weeks.

Just to confirm: all EU kits were shipped yesterday and today. I will have tracking IDs on monday.

Also to prevent any DOA I "XMP-tested" all kits before shipping. They were shipped by my guys at Thermal Grizzly and randomized this way.

Hope everyone will have a good time with the competition :)
