Crew pro Posted June 13, 2012 Crew Posted June 13, 2012 not sure if this is posted elsewhere, excuse if it is, just saw this on Australian website ----------------- Update for the Grand Final: Total 16 teams: 3 from America's, 5 from EMEA and 4 from APAC, presumably another 1 from each region through the Lords of Overclocking contest.. That leaves one place TBD. Confirmed Date for Grand Final: September 28. Focused product: X79 for MB, VGA:TBD Interesting choice going with X79.. That would point to a 3Dmark11 stage for VGA. Presumably the CPU benchmark/s will have a multi limitation so massive CPU clocks are a moot point. Cold bugging will be interesting. Last year no torches were allowed (venue requirement) so a big powerful hairdryer would be needed in that case. Quote
Hondacity Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 no limitation on the cpu imo. as always heatgun(welder type lol) is the choice Quote
Splave Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 create an electrical arc furnace attach leads to cpu pot lmao Quote
Massman Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Has anyone noticed Lab501 didn't enter the EMEA qualifier? That leaves one place TBD. Quote
Splave Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 winner from last year gets free ride to next years I think that is fair to be honest Quote
M.Beier Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Has anyone noticed Lab501 didn't enter the EMEA qualifier? I already went crying to Monstru about this, he then lifted me up and padded me on the back stating 'stay calm, we will go, its ok, dont cry' Thats pretty much how it went down : Quote
Massman Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Timing of the final is confirmed: 28-30 sept. What's left is HW (assuming 680 lightning) and the new judge. Quote
Splave Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 I thought giorgio was an amazing judge but I think he is someones partner this year Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted June 23, 2012 Crew Posted June 23, 2012 Massman for uber judge :nana: Press F1 to agree, press F2 to agree Quote
saint19 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I would invite to the guys that does not won a ticket as jugde...including me...lol Quote
ME4ME Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Pretty obvious who should be judge this year ..... http://hwbot.org/newsflash/1732_elmor_features_in_msi_gtx_680_lightning_video Quote
jjjc Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 That narrows the list right down. This years judge: Uncle Fester! (I kid ) Quote
TaPaKaH Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 make a contest to select a judge ... more PR, so it's a win-win Quote
K404 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) I'd vote for Sam. That'd be AMAZING! Team X: Disqualified. Reason? Running 3DMark11. But this is a 3DMark11 competition! Team X: Banned for one year. Reason? Arguing with judge. Edited June 26, 2012 by K404 Quote
oc_windforce Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Korea can not summit the APAC MOA APAC MOA out of South Korea is the national summit Quote

saint19 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 cool thanks MM, Mixed regions, same as last year? or is there a switch up to add some excitement? Mixed regions means high competition, only 3 tickets for all those guys that want to go and lost for just a few points... Quote

This is going to be bloody :D Anyway, what's the challenge this year I wonder? Could it be something like 3DMark11 Multi-GPU all-out? It's really interesting to see multi-GPU setups like LOC 2010 Quote
Splave Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I agree they are interesting to see but then that just ensures the rich will beat the poor Quote
Massman Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 cool thanks MM, Mixed regions, same as last year? or is there a switch up to add some excitement? Uhm, maybe I should say "unmixed" regions in that case. Let's just say there are three more tickets for EMEA this year (j/k) Mixed Regions, ouch! This is going to be bloody :D Anyway, what's the challenge this year I wonder? Could it be something like 3DMark11 Multi-GPU all-out? It's really interesting to see multi-GPU setups like LOC 2010 I asked if it was single GPU and they did not want to comment on that ... given the XPower II was their first official 4-Way board, who knows Quote
