Haswell (Z87/Z97) OC

i think i figured out my issue.... Note to all... put a piece of tape to cover the bottom socket hole on any Asus board... eliminates the risk of vaseline getting into the socket.. otherwise you will end up getting a nasty cb... I didnt realize it when benching for the HyperX contest and retested today..Lets just say I was bangīng my head alot for this and it would drive me nuts.... My chip had a cb that would go anywhere from -115 to -75...during the contest... Tested today.. the chip cb's at -132... Hope this helps someone else....

Hey guys! I dont know how to get rid of this problem... can ayone assist? For 3dmark03 / 05 / 06 in windows XP, i get terrible CPU test and effects GPU tests too. I use Gigabyte Z87X-OC but same problem on asrock. 4770k and Titan, also tried GTS 250 with same issue. what happens: I open 3Dmark03/05/06. there are alot of FMIscan.exe in task manager. When i run bench my score sucks, when i close all the fmiscans i get propper normal scoring. Obviously i cannot close fmi scan for valid result, so need to sort it out. I tried: 2 different Xp 32bit. SP3 on both. different .NET versions, bunch of bios settings, 3 different nvidia drivers, bunch of nvidi…

Hi guys, I need some voltage advice. I've just started my first overclock and am stable at 4.2, but my PC freezes at 4.3. Any advice in general to where I need to look for adjustments next, or maybe a link to a simple guide? I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you. Hi guys, so i'm benching super pi with stripped XP and trying to tight timings, but i seem to not be able to make neither GTL nor memtweak to work, GTL will show timings, grayed out however, memtweak doesn't even show timings, is there something i have to install in order to make them to work like net framework or some service that must be started or something else? board is Z87x-OC F9c BIOS

Tip thread! When booting 1950mh+ from bios sometimes you need some patience. Dont worry if it fails to boot. Let it go for a couple minutes wait for the magic to happen. I usually wait 2-5 minutes for post. Video just shows it failing to boot over and over just letting it keep trying until 3:52 it trains and boots 1950 More to come. Hey guys, I want to know if I am missing something obvious. I used to have my Maximus VI Hero and 4770K at 4.5GHz (45x) and 4.7GHz (47x), and it used to stay at those speeds all the time, no matter what. I've recently sold it to a friend, and he can no longer get it to run at 45x constantly. As soon as load is applied, it drops to 35x. Now, here's the even weirder thing. The profile that I used to run at a constant 4.5GHz, has been saved into an OC profile which he has loaded. However, it just will not stay at 4.5GHz when load is applied. I recently acquired myself an Asus M6E, after having trouble of getting decent performance on XP with the Z87X-OC. Now I'm getting some nice results in XP, but there is one issue. Whenever SLI is enabled (in this case GTX570's) when I open GPU-Z the mouse becomes very unresponsive and after a while I get either a BSOD, or the display driver crashes. Until now I've tried to re-install Windows XP, tried 2 different version of GPU-Z (0.7.7 and 0.7.3) and tried a few different drivers to no avail. Anyone experience something like this before? lo all, I recently benched 2 x GTX580 SLI. The only benchmark I couldn't run my 05-06 stable settings on was 3DMark03. Not a lockup, but a complete shutdown of the setup occurred, mostly during GT1. Only one out of 10 runs completed succesfully. Very frustrating... Here is it: CPU Ratio x47 Uncore Ratio x39 VCCIN 1.8 VCORE 1.27 VCCSA +0.2 DRAM 2400 MHz @Cl9 1.95v (PSC, Memtest ok) PLL Filter Enabled (SB PLL) Power Limits 4096 OVP, OCP, C State, EIST, Intel Thermal Control, VID Connection & etc are disabled. 4cores|8 Threads So, I booting with that profile. Temps on LN2 Pot is about -80. I set up VCCIN to 2.3, after CPU Voltage to 1.75 volts without increasing ratio. After that all motherboard immediately shuts down. No bsod, no reboot, just shut down. When I stress test my Haswell CPU, the monitoring tools (HWiNFO64, OCCT, AIDA64) show that the BLCK goes up to 102MHz (from 100.0MHz which is manually set in BIOS). *check attachment that is almost 1x multiplier bump. because of that, i cannot use a lower Vcore - I think. (well, i cannot check if that theory is true or not because the darn BCLK won't stick to 100MHz) I need to stop this. Any help? By using SB PLL, I think I have made it happen less often.
