    I can init my hand made adapter for thunderbird slot A -> socket A adapter but i don't secure if this work with non thunderbird core.

  3. Before Abit shut down, Turrican and I made a backup of their FTP. I thought I lost it but when checking some external hard drives the other day I found the backup. I did not upload the whole backup (it is quite big). I only uploaded the BIOS, Beta, FlashMenu, Manuals and Utilities directories to my website, accessible here If you however need driver(s) or product picture(s), feel free to request them. EDIT: Bambooz (TPU and Hexus) uploaded the full backup (including drivers and product pictures) made by Solaris17 (TPU) here. Product pictures can be found here.

    Thought I'd let it go wild. A benchBIOS made by Hardware Hackers (me in particular). Been known by some for about 10 years. The thing is, I didn't add any features, it was all there done by Asus, I've just unlocked them and made some bench-related changes. List of changes: Based on latest 1024 beta Set by CMOS default: 1) No logo screen 2) Floppy disabled 3) IDE timeout = 0 4) Overclocking mode = manual 5) MPS 1.4 6) Timings set manually 7) Spread spectrum disabled ? Onboard devices = disabled 9) Speech POST reporter = disabled 10) USB timeout = 10sec 11) USB Highspeed = enable Moved following menus: 1) Hyperthreading mo…

  5. Hi. I didn't want to necropost, so I created a new thread. I have an ASUS Rampage Extreme motherboard and decided to test it with 16GB of RAM. I saw on forums that theoretically it can support 16GB, even though according to the specs it should only support 8 GB. For this, I purchased and installed 4 sticks of Corsair Dominator GT CMT8GX3M2A2000C9, each 4GB, version 5.11 (all identical). After that, the motherboard booted into Windows without any issues, and all 16GB were successfully recognized. Additionally, I ran tests using HCI Memtest and TestMem5 for several hours to ensure everything was working stably (all tests passed without errors). All of this was done w…

  6. This question has been raised several times so I need to clarify this issue. Upon a HWBot member request I've done some research and decided to divide 3700+/4000+ E6 categories from E4 ones concluding the have different cores. You can grab a coffee and have a in-depth read. This is my letter to Franck Delattre, the author of CPU-Z who agreed with my arguments and updated CPU-Z to tell them apart. ================ Hello, Franck! There are two CPUs that aren't documented anywhere and CPU-Z identifies them wrong. ADA4000DKA5CF and ADA3700DKA5CF, identified as San Diego DH-E6. Take a look at the table. First, the part number, it's different. …

    Hello, I'd like to separate some in-depth research considering sA that started in this thread: https://community.hwbot.org/topic/187148-a7n8x-e-deluxe-as-an-alternative-for-socket-462/ I'd like to discuss some sA and NF2 specific mods to: Make instructions for beginners Investigate other BIOS mods Make some progress if possible I'd like to investigate the work done by gurus like Merlin, tictac and many others, take the best from them and maybe move ahead. It would be very nice to get over 250FSB by tuning system registers and check how it's done. I'll start with some known mods and would like those familiar with ( @Mr.Scott ,@I.nfraR.…

  10. Intro: As the 8800GTS G80 was the first card I took subzero it is something that I developed some sort of relationship to, all you XOC guys know what I'm talking about. And since it's been quite a while since I benched any G80 cards I was certain to get a few cards and run some benches. So I started looking for some information or just hints on how to spot the infamous A3 core in the wild. It turns out that there is hardly any information out there on how to spot A3 cores and it's mostly related to GPU-Z, something that most local or online sellers won't provide you with. So I decided to get a bunch of cards and try to find a way of telling if that card has a A3…

  11. Hi, so here is my attempt to attack the CPU-Z Validator World Record, this one -> "[LULZ] Most Miserable Frequency Reached with a Duron". https://valid.x86.fr/records.html So here it was when I started a week ago: My first approach was to collect some data: 1. cheapie 307 MHz (8 * 38.38 MHz); Duron 800(?), VIA KT133, SDRAM 2. TerraRaptor 333.26 MHz (5 * 66.65 MHz); Duron L1 mod probably, NF2 3. 0xCats 334.06 MHz (5 * 66.81 MHz); KT266 4. trodas 398.49 MHz (6 * 66.41 MHz); KT266 5. "GIGABYTE" 501.19 MHz (5 * 100.24 MHz); KT133 Gigabyte 7ZXR 6. tukz 531 MHz (8 * 66.38 MHz); SiS 735, K7S5A The slowest Duron I found on Cpu-world database is 60…

  12. Hello HWBOT friends. The Intel Core 2 Quad Core Q6600 system is overclocked at around 2.572Ghz (from 2.4Ghz) with Aida64 stable, 286 FSB w/ 9x multiplier, RAM is only at 573Mhz DDR3 1146, the voltages are in auto but it can be maximized even more. I'm doing my best to optimize an old, so that it's maximized, they earn faster but with little cost. It's budget PC (budget but the parts are branded), there will be a beefy cooler (Dimensions, L x W x H: 120x73x156mm) w/ 120mm fan that'll be installed (it's on stock Intel cooler that's been thoroughly cleaned). The goal is to get it stable with least a 332 FSB x 9 multiplier to take it to at least 3Ghz (from 2.4Ghz) …

    Disclaimer: all information here is my experience, I will be not responsible for any damage that may be there if you follow any instructions here. Environment and general settings · Replace stock/old TIM on NB – many OCers report that replacing stock TIM on NB helped them a lot. I would aim for <50C NB temperature in BIOS for any settings. Some stock coolers may have issues and may require dremel works to get good contact between NB IHS and cooler. Try software named MCHTemp to control overheating of NB – if too hot, NB may throttle and/or have limited FSB overclocks. Another point to consider – when measuring dc resistance, NB is 8Ohm @30C and …

    Hi all, Just like the titles said. I am looking for some info for backwards compatibility for PCI gfx cards. When searching: The only info I get is PCIe related, I am looking for the older standard. I completely forgot about how this worked back then. Example: Can a PCI 3.0 card be run on a 2.x board.

    Hi, The TUSL2-C and CUSL2 ASUS boards seem to be the most popular - what are the pros and cons of each and are there any others to consider? I'm very interested in this platform but the hardware is difficult to find and expensive (for what it is) so I don't want to pick something that won't work.
