For a small project I've been researching the Holicho SuperPI 32M leaderboards. I used Web Archive to go back to October 2000 (almost 16 years ago) and browsed the results. I found an overclocker by the name of 沸騰ãã‚“ ... who turns out to be Futto-kun. Every time I do research on the "old overclocking", I'm amazed by how the Japanese community was so far ahead of its time. :ws: :ws: :ws: Here's a link to his blog where you can still find stories about LN2 cooling the Pentium 3 slot processors. My 2 cents (assumption is cost is not relevant): 1. 980Ti (SLI not very effective in P3D V3.x but I need to test more with V3.2 and latest nVidia drivers) 2. Quad channel motherboard and CPU (Asus X99 Extreme boards work well for OC and Asus R&D socket design to optimize performance) ... memory bandwidth is very important and quad channel setups are typically over 60 GB/s 3. Hey, I'm currently working on a script in Powershell to automatically check some system specs and confirm if they are correct or not. Some of the interns here are having difficulties with this, so I thought, why not help them by doing the check via script. One thing I haven't found a solution to, is getting the correct CPU speed. WMI and DMIdecode didn't give me the right speed. DMIdecode worked a little better though. When overclocked, it always shows the wrong value. Since I'm not very deep into scripting or building programs, I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to read out the correct speed via a script. I guess it has to be via somet…
