I am thinking about a reball action for my 2 MSI Geforce GTX 260 Lightning BE. 1 of my 2 cards started succesfully untill a few days ago but showed artifacts today. After cleaning and taking the cooler of, it gave me a black screen (same as my nr.2 card). I was wondering if anyone has done a reball for a graphics processor. Is there anybody out there who has tried it? The gpu is a G200-103-3B. I was wondering if anyone has succefully replaced a gpu as well.

Hey everyone. First time poster, first time build here. I started this with the intention of upgrading the graphics card on my Dell XPS 8700 to a GTX GeForce 1080 card. Well pretty soon I decided that I might as well do a completely new build as only a gc upgrade wouldn't improve speed where I need it. The purpose of the machine is primarily design, Adobe (vector + PS and 3D renderings, some CAD) so that's why I decided a new processor etc was better than simply a GC upgrade. I'm looking to do some gaming as well in the future. My best scores after a month of tweaking off and on in the uefi are 1076 XTU, 18,120 marks for 3DMark (fire strike) max temp in the XTU b…

Yes, I am new and always loved tinkering with hardware. I have messed some up along the way. So I do know the risk. Thank you guys for letting me join. Maybe I might be a big guy here one day. The question I have. Is I haven't been having luck searching the forums. Maybe I'm just looking for the wrong key words, I don't know. If you unhook the bus clock from the base clock via Bios editing. Is this allowed or is this considered to be cheating? I assumed since it added an extra risk and potential problems for the person overclocking that it would be okay. Generally even doing that will only yield you so much gains. So if someone around here sees this that kno…

I had a look to find out the top-25 CPUs with the highest average overclock in the Cinebench benchmarks with air or water cooling. Hey guys Some of you may or may not know that I held a UK based overclocking event last year in Sheffield. The turnout was good in my opinion and some benchers who have always wanted to meet each other finally got the chance. Much LN2 was poured, many beers were had and lots of fun too! Some of us are looking at holding another one sometime in 2017 (dates are flexible right now) and this post is purely designed to gauge interest. Who would be interested in attending? LN2er, Newbies, Rookies, Experienced, New blood - All 100% welcome! This might be in the UK, but everyone Worldwide including Europe is welcome to come along! I am currently working to source …

I've noticed that when Novices are promoted to the Enthusiast league after a year they keep the OC sports points they gained in Rookie Rumbles and Novice Nimbles until a year after the competition ends. This throws the league as a skilled rookie or novice can easily score big points in such competitions where they may not be good enough to be anywhere near the top in a standard competition such as a Division round. I'm suggesting that when a Rookie is promoted to the Novice league any points gained in a rookie rumble are removed and when a Novice is promoted to the Enthusiast league any points gained from a novice nimble are removed to keep the leagues more balanc…

Hello all As may or may not know, the UK overclocking scene has been a bit of a topsy-turvy affair over the last couple of years. With the scene itself having many problems (just like many other countries), I took it upon myself to pick up where HiViZman (legend) left the UK-based overclockers and give them something to keep focused on and even, help push overclocking to the masses. Here is the story and the general gist of it all; take it as you will. I have split it into sections for easy reading. The Venue So where do I start with this? Probably the catalyst to everything since The Big Freeze UK event in Feb 2016 and the reason why I am no longer willi…

I understand that this test - the toughest. With high voltage on the CPU, which will inevitably during OC - a lot of heat is generated. More than other tests. But how much? Interested to Skylake 6700K, 6600K, and for the future Kaby. I found this graph. http://www.3dnews.ru/assets/external/illustrations/2015/09/21/920570/table-1.png http://www.3dnews.ru/assets/external/illustrations/2015/09/21/920570/table-2.png http://www.3dnews.ru/assets/external/illustrations/2015/09/21/920570/table-3.png http://www.3dnews.ru/assets/external/illustrations/2015/09/21/920570/table-4.png http://www.3dnews.ru/assets/external/illustrations/2015/09/21/920570/power-3.png This pow…

Hello everybody, thanks to accept me in your forum. There are a lot of informations and advices. Great ! But I need your help. I've just built a new computer with a Gigabyte motherboard, model X99-Designware EX with a intel i7-6850K in normal mode. I bought also a Dominator Platinium 64Gb Kit (4x16) in 3466Mhz. CMD64GX4M4B3466C16 But unfortunately, I have wonderfull Windows blue screen after some times... (XMP mode) So I suspect memory to be the cause. It will be confirmed with a memory test software (MemTest86 - Offical Site of the x86 Memory Testing Tool) So I call my shop to make an exchange. Waiting the delivery of new pack of memory, I equip …

Hey guys, So I got annoyed that it's actually quite difficult to find all relevant information on overclocking in a centralized place. There are some really great overclocking guides and videos out there and experienced users are sharing really solid information, but I don't always know where to look for it. So I figured I'd start collecting the information. @sdougal suggested we'd take it to another level and turn it into an overclocking Wiki. He wrote a lot of the introductory content for the Wiki ("what is overclocking") and we started from there. I just finished the typical lay-out for Skylake and wanted to share the project with you. By no means is this a fi…

Hey guys, what clocks would an E8400 E0 need to do to be considered bench-worthy? I have two new ones, and the first one I tested looks alright but I don't really have any measurements to base this on. I did bench two other ones some time ago but didn't keep any binning data. If they are good CPUs, I might get DICE one weekend and bench them properly. This was a pretest done at 1,45V for maximum clocks and FSB on my REX. Zalman air cooler at room temperature mounted with gravity and a book on top. Thus, the CPU got very hot at 1,5V+ which was the limiting factor in clocks I guess (80°C in Super Pi) - addind voltages didn't help either and I know the board can do mor…

After years of not overclocking due to issues with my previous motherboard, I'm currently clocking at 4.4 GHz on stock voltage consistently. This is pretty good, but I want to do better. Problem is, though I've raised the multiplier to 45, the processor will only reach 4.4. I mean, it's not the usual voltage issue, as it boots just fine as far as I can tell. The appropriate utilities show that the max multiplier is indeed set at 45, but running benchmark tests shows that it isn't surpassing 4.4 (and even fluctuates between 4.39 and 4.35). I had a similar problem before I got around by increasing my Turbo Boost Power Max and Short Power Max several times. However, …

Hello, 1st of all I would like to thank you der8auer for such a great non-K guide. Basically you explained a lot and intrested me with such thing as OC but still I would like to ask you guys for advise regarding to my OC. Let's just say I'm a total newbie on OC field and I gathered my knowledge from many guides (a lot of missleading informations), the thing is I would like to reach the safe maximum on my hardware but I dont know the limits and how to test them. CPU: i7-6700 non-K CPU coller: SilentiumPC Grandis XE1236v2 with 3x 120mm fans (~1100RPM max for my fans is I think 1600RPM. I can go higher with noise it isn't a problem for me) Thermal paste: Arctic …
