Volt modifications

So because raising Vcore on the Fury X causes massive drops in performance I'm investigate ways to get the card to behave. I think the FPS drop is caused by power tune. The easiest solution to that is that I mod the power sensing circuits of the IR3567B so that it sees the card using less power. However this also means that I'll be running the risk of blowing up the high side FETs. So I'm considering trying an E-power mod on the card. Now my concern with this is that apparently the R9 290X which also used the IR3567B was a nightmare to get working with an E-power. On the Fury X the IR3567B controls the HBM and core vlotages. Good evening a need a big help my GTX580 Matrix start to go @ 640x480 at boot until SO and, a few seconds later, black screen the v mem is fixed to 1,35V, not increase to 1,57V the bios is original (flashed again) Do I can solve with a v mod on mems' IC? Hey guys, I would like to know your opinion. I bought SilverStone Strider 1,5kW for my 980Ti KPE for LN2 purposes from a friend. He soldered rails together to make it single-rail PSU. He was feeding with this PSU 3x290@1200MHz and 3970X@5GHz on water. Now I'am having second thoughts, how safe is it? Whats the chance it will blow up and take my card with it? Thanks alot

MSI GTX 980 Gaming 4GB (non reference PCB) all mods are test on air and ln2 and are working Vgpu mod OCP mod Vmem mod Vpll mod Cold slow mod power limiting mod With this Vgpu mod you can use bios from all manufacturers Keep an eye on Vmem voltage if you change the bios. With some bios the memory only get 1.4V. The card can run with it but can't overclock much. If you use a bios that provides 1.4V then the memory gets 1.6V when you are in the bios so be careful when modifying the Vmem voltage if not using MSI bios To new overclocks remember to change the resistance on the Variable resistor until there is maximum…

Well, since EVBOT having transition state currently, here's alternative solution for you, EPOWER people. Since controller accepts controls from PMBus, attached Raspberry Pi can talk to EPOWER and adjust voltages. Voltage range is 0.6 to 2.0V Tested with Model B Rev2.0 (not plus), but should work with any Pi. Details in this article for those who interested. Try it, and let me know if any problem Also old-school hardware-only way with trimpot resistor is covered too.

I'm trying to run my E-powered GTX 590 and the card doesn't want to start. To make things worse the POST code on my RIVE doesn't works only the debug LEDs do. So all I know is that I have a GPU problem of some kind. When I was soldering on the E-power I managed to drip solder on the PCI-e pins however I've tried to fix them and as far as my DMM is concerned all of them are fixed. Now they may not be making good contact but is it possible that I need to provide a PWR_GOOD signal when using the E-power? I ripped of both the VR controllers so I thought that I don't need to deal with any PWR-GOOD signals. Is that correct?

I have a couple of XBox 360s here to repair for friends. One is back up and running and OOOOFT these things are hot, coupled with poor airflow. Does anyone know how much I can drop the voltage before instability would become a problem? I don't want to spend hours testing these, if I could take e.g... 0.2v off and "be done with it" .... that'd be nice! Cheers

I came up idea of new voltage measuring method. It's really tiny voltmeter, which is built in lcd poster. It has three wires - GND, VCC (5-30V) and measuring wire (0-30V). GND of course has to be common. Mounted in on P5E3 Deluxe and it works great. Accuracy is very good too - on 7900GS I had 1.282v on DMM and 1.27V on this poster. Here is the picture, how it looks placed on P5E3. It's powered from 8-pin ATX connector.

Hey guys, I'm looking to mod a bunch of cards, and looking for advice on where to find best deals on decent things. specifically after the following 1.2k smd resistors 6.3v 1500uF solid caps 16v 1500uF solid caps I can get them from electronics stores like element14/farnell/rscomponents, and some even from ebay in china, was wondering if anyone had any personal recommendations on stores that stock parts such as this, that ship internationally (I'm in Australia) Thanks.

Just wondering if there is a modded BIOS out there which will allow me to go over 1.6v with Prescott CPUs or if I'm going to have to get the soldering iron out and mod the board? Many thanks.

Not exactly sure if this would be the right place for such a thread and it's not a voltmod I'm asking for..... But anyway here goes. I'm trying to redo some MOSFETs on a board and I cannot find any real technical info on the ones I'm trying to replace - The part numbers from the MOSFETs I have I'm using but so far I've come up with nothing. Trying to find a direct replacement also seems to be a real pain, haven't found anything on that part of it either. Getting an equivalent MOSFET per specs would work fine but trying to find a place to start so I don't drop in a piece that will do more harm than good isn't going so well. The time has come where i need more juice for my cards, so this means some hard mods can anyone recommend a good solder station, upto £100?? I am based in the UK so please bare this in mind. Is that right? I'm sure that isn't a good idea use such high voltage on water, tbh i think that card doesn't handle this even on ln2 (crap vrm)... Thanks!
