Hi, I'm having quite the difficulty in trying to overclock my R9 3950x. I'm especially concerned in temperature difference between CCD1 and CDD2, because my difference between ccd1 and ccd2 is almost 15-20c. While the power draw is slightly different, between CCDs, I'm not exactly sure what's causing this issue to happen. I have a prefilled water cooler by Swiftech (Drive x3 360mm AIO cooler, Apogee SKF LT waterblock, 3x Gentle Typhoons). The cooler itself shouldn't have any problem handling small power draw of around 150w-170w. But the high temps of CCD1 limits my ability to set a manual OC. I'm not interested about clocks for now. I want t…

Over clock of a memory doesn't go well in SuperPi - 32M. Is it impossible in B450? Is it a problem that the memory voltage can be input only to 1.8V in particular? Are there also few items of the timing control? You can't turn the current state and 3600Mhz. Are there any special points in AMD?

Hello! So like i said in the title i cant find a way to bench the CPU part of these APU with GPUPI (tested with 2200G and 3000G). They are simply not recognised as OpenCL device. Windows 10 Pro, with chipset drivers and Adrenalin 20.1.3. I installed both AMD APP SDK provided by mat on the GPUPI support thread. Did i forget something ? (no issue on my old 2600K).

Dear Fellow OC'ers. @StingerYar @safedisk I find myself in a strange position with this CPU / system W10. Everything is up to date. But I can't run GPUPI 3.2 Despite having Visual Studio 2012 , 2013 & 2015 I'm still unable to run standard version. After Installing Visual Studio 2013 x64 I have run Legacy version. I have seen You both running those 64bit versions just fine. Is there something else I should've installed? Cheers Peter

Trying to help a friend out. Long story short: Ryzen 3900X, ASRock x570 Taichi Ultimate, 3 kits of RAM (two on the QVL list) and none of the kits of ram will are "stable" enough to let the 3D printer finishes its job. When the system was built. Everything was working solid. It was a built to run a very advanced 3D printer for a dentist office. So there is no OC at all on the PC. As bios updates came out, the crashes during 3d printing sessions happened more often with each bios update. It has gotten to the point where 2133MHz still crashes during a printing session. Keep in mind this happens on 3 different kits of ram and two of those kits are on the moth…

AMD has long history of great microarchitecture. As example Athlon 64 (64-bit) 3rd Generation was teased oN CES 2019, with information of launch will be "in half of this year". What next? We know, IPC will be better than Pinnacle RIdge, its redesigned CPU as chiplet 7nm + IO part on 14nm. Also FP unit is much stronger in theory. Ryzen 3rd generation will be propably Leadership in performance, performance/watt/features AMD show included CinebenchR15 demo of ES Ryzen chip 8C/16T not at final clocks against Intel i9-9900K (8C/16T with MCE enabled). Both platform have the same GPU, RAM (2666MHz), PSU. we can see, AMD CPU was slighltly be…

I have posted this question a couple of times elsewhere on the forum as I get my 1700X tomorrow and don't want to have to re bench any benchmarks if I need to do them on Windows 7. Is the Ryzen in the same class as Skylake & Kaby Lake in terms on benchmark results being valid on Windows 10? Thanks

Most liked platform for me was AMD Dragon. I was surprised at 2010 after the launch AMD Phenom II X6. Yes, its 7 years ago, memories...Today we have new Crosshair motherboard. Sixth generation named Crosshair VI Hero. Everything what you need to know about Crosshair VI Clock generator is great info for us! Motherboard - new Crosshair It was more clear, I must have some Ryzens and this motherboard. I was in silence, first BIOSes was not ideal and BIOS chip at my board was broked. Ryzen 7 1800X is my AIO rig. But I bought also Ryzen 5 1500X and Ryzen 7 1700X. And have borrowed 1700 non X + 1600. I tested quickly only 1800X and 1700X, a little 1500X. …

Hello everyone, I state that the first time I try a AMD cpu @ liquid nitrogen. I found some small problem and I lost a lot of time to find a preset that would then make me go on from Windows. The most annoying thing is that: Boot to the mobo under 0C° and that's bug I had to necessarily bring temperatures in the positive, and once loaded a profile to 4GHz, after i can down the temperatures and increase voltage and frequency in the operating system. Understand well, that even a single crash, involved a "thawing" of the pot and a rise in temperatures above 0 ° C. It is there by chance a few presets that allows to circumvent this elusive "cold boot" ??? Sorry for my ba…

So this is a thing: One intresting thing to note is that the second CB run takes more time IRL time to finish than the first so I think it is very likely that the CPU is still at 4GHz but the Windows clock broke which leads to higher scores.

Hey guys, not really satisfied with my memory performance so far so I'm asking you for help. It's 2x8GB of this one, I bought it because TridentZ were supposed to run great on Ryzen as they are singlesided and single rank (at least the 3200C14 are, so I figured mine are probably too, right?) So, here are my problems with it: It doesn't run 3200 CL15, maxed out at about 3100MHz - more and I get "0d" when booting. It doesn't really seem to run stable, at 2933MHz CL13 it seems to negatively impact my Firestrike Combined Score I can't adjust subtimings in the BIOS of my C6H. When I set TRC to 50 for example (which is default by SPD) it still stays at 69, according t…

Hands down the best technical article on Ryzen I've read so far. Check it out here: https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/ryzen-strictly-technical.2500572/ Some quotes: - "Zeppelin features a highly advanced power management, as stated many times before. Just like Carrizo / Bristol Ridge, which feature a very similar PM, Zeppelin can infact support cTDP as well. cTDP is not officially supported (or available) on any consumer Zeppelin based SKU (AFAIK). The lack of official support is merely a distraction. 850 points in Cinebench 15 at 30W is quite telling. Or not telling, but absolutely massive. Zeppelin can reach absolutely monstrous and unseen levels of efficienc…
