Skylake/Kaby Lake/Coffee Lake (-X) (Z170/Z270/Z370/X299) OC

I have new rig for benchmarking old GPUs. i7 8700K @ 5.4 GHz, ASRock Z370 Extreme4 and 2x8 GB DDR4 4100. Now the problem is, I can't get proper 3DM01 scores with this system. Few years ago I had 7700K with Maximus VIII Ranger and the system was somewhat faster despite lower CPU clock and much slower memory. As far as I can tell, the drivers and settings are the same now like I had back in 2017. The winXP install is different, but that canť make the difference or can it? I'm struggling to get an Asrock Z170 OC Formula motherboard to boot a 4500 RAM kit (TeamGroup TForce xtreem) at anything above 3000. I've tried two different 7700k's. On an MSI motherboard the RAM is fine at 3600 with the same CPUs so I must be missing a setting in the BIOS or something. I've even gone through the BIOS RAM pre-sets and all of the ones at or below 3000 POST fine even the super tight ones. The second I change it to 3066 or above, no POST. Any help is much appreciated

Please, who uses both mobo - say yours opinion. I think better - Apex XI. Memory support 4800, Dark only 4600. Better powerstage - 16 vs 12 - 60A. But Dark bigger (E-ATX), socket and connectors on 90 degrees, and expensive - 500$.

just did a clean install of windows server 2012 r2 standard for cinibench benchmarking. was wondering what i need to do as far as motherboard drivers? anyone running this os can speak on the setup process? or am i good to go with no drivers or internet connectivity?

Wondering if anyone has a second to take a look at the settings that Lenovo set for overclocking the PC I purchased from them? 84*C max seems like its a bit too high of a frequency to be running at without liquid cooling (came stock with regular fans), The graph settings I had enabled looked good I wish I knew more (need to study some more) One day soon I'm going to add some extra cooling and possibly more ram but I would like to get the right settings in so I don't fry the PC its been an awesome PC so far just had to deal with Windows 10 mainly. Hello everybody , I got a Maximus XI Gene recently and after several attempts to backup some older images from M9A or M10A for either Windows 10 or Windows Server 2019 (which I curently use as I find it faster than any Win10 edition) or fresh install of the mentioned OS'es I cannot get rid of the very annoying by now Asus Update Check (part of ASUS Armoury Crate) , no matter if I install it when asked about it or cancel it. Hey, I was recently able to get Windows XP working on my ASUS Maximus XI Gene with USB Drivers. I have included a Custom ISO that I created with NLITE where everything is integrated and nothing is stripped. You need to First Open up YUMI.exe which is in the Pack linked below, Select your install disk (USB), Then in Step 2 Select "Single Windows XP Installer" Format it as Fat32, And select the XPFinal.iso The process to get the usb drivers to work is a bit tedious but at the end of the day they work. 8700k Overclocked to 4900MHz @ 1.27v No stability issues while gaming or other benchmark tests, but up to 12k Prime95 stress test had 1 error. Cooling is adequate (good water) and I'm all ready to have fun! Latest BIOS1401 is being used at present. Because I'm incompatible with the memory which is being used. BIOS in the past was introduced. The symptom which freezes during an OS boot occurs. Only the latest BIOS can start OS. Do you have an idea about such symptom? I'd like to know solution method.
