GIGABYTE Z97X OC Guide While this guide focuses heavily on the Z97X-SOC and Z97X-SOC Force, the same principles can be applied to any GIGABYTE Z97 motherboard. All the results done by me in this guide are done on a closed loop AIO watercooler with above ambient temperature. There is a separate section from top overclockers such as Dinos22, and those are mostly done on LN2. Disclaimer: Overclocking can cause damage to your hardware components if done in correctly, this guide is there to help those who wish to do so knowing something might happen, you and only you are responsible if you damage your hardware. The figure above shows all the changes of the Z97X…

The GIGABYTE Z87 / Ultimate Haswell Overclocking(OC) Guide By Sin0822(Steven B.) with contributions from Dinos22 and Hicookie. (Credit for the above image goes to Froxic) Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the much anticipated GIGABYTE Z87/Haswell Overclocking Guide. The principles and techniques shown here can be applied across the board to many other models of motherboards, however what is listed here should work 100% with GIGABYTE boards as that is what was used for the development and testing of this OC Guide. Many users have gotten used to the ease of overclocking LGA1155 (Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge) systems, however Haswell is a totally different beast, offering the…

First TIP To keep our retails alive (and ES QEH6) we have to understand one main thing on M6E (and I think it's also works on Gene, Impact) - "Fully Manual Mode" was designed for almost indestructible QE6S ES cpus which can be benched 2v+ and for validation 3v+ isn't a problem (I saw it on my own eyes) and was designed cause originally VRM of cpus could only deliver 1.7 Vcore. For retails cpus and newer ES cpus we should play with default Intel's VRM overvoltage methods which doesn't limit us in voltages. Of course keep in mind that Haswell is Hasfail, it can die everytime, on each motherboard, in the box, it's not guarantee, but it helped me so I am sharing …

You can download the .pdf slides as shown at IDF here: https://intel.activeevents.com/bj13/scheduler/catalog.do (just search for "overclocking"). There's a bunch of other interesting material there as well. All the information in this article should be public knowledge, no NDAs broken.

Should be fine to have this one in the open now as NDA lifted two weeks ago. This is pretty much the one and only guide you will need for the M6E explaining all the little things for extreme overclocking. Godlike guide :ws: Original PDF: http://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/hwbotdownloads/downloads/text_storage/m6eShammyGuide.pdf Condensed form by IMOG: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7501162'>http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7501162 Would've loved to put it all here as text, but it would take too much time. Hope someone will rework all this as an easier to read guide.

Hey guys, I have a Maximus VII Impact and I am trying to get 2600 MHz tight Dual Channel working, each stick can do it sub 1.88V The only thing I can think of would be RTLs, you are meant to use 40-41 For Dual channel right? I was using these timings and with 1.9V I instantly get a "NOT EXACT IN ROUND" Error in SPi. http://i.imgur.com/Yjg5TqR.jpg I just saw that pic and I don't even know what those RTL's Are. I can get 2400 Super tight working well, exact volts of the weaker stick ( 1.7V )

I have got two Z97 OC Formula, but both sadly with issues. Maybe couldnt to repair. CPU is 4980HQ and 5775C . I ordered a third one. But the repairman told me today that this model is not stable, they are buggy, he had 30 pieces, and all are buggy. What can you advise? I have compiled a short list of possible applicants: Z87 OC Formula MAXIMUS VI EXTREME MSI Z87 Xpower Evga Z87 Classified MAXIMUS VII IMPACT MSI Z97 Xpower Evga Z97 Classified Any opinions to appreciate.

I just had a hell of a time freezing a 4790k that does pretty good on air. But with DICE I ran into bad stability problems after 45 minutes or so, pulled everything apart and re-insulated, tried again and about 45 minutes later I'm stuck on boot loop again, unable to post. This chip is delidded, it's got generous TIM on the die, although I didn't put any on the bunch of SMDs next to the die. I seem to remember people saying you needed to re-seal it with RTV if you are going to freeze it safely... is that the case? Or is it fine to just put the IHS back on loosely with plenty of TIM? I suppose it's also possible that it's cold bugging at -60 or so, because…

Has anyone else experienced this? 100% stable with waza, I can run 32m 10 times no problems, but if I disable HT I bsod randomly, sometimes freeze in the middle of a run or in bios. But when 32m can complete sometimes, and when it does the times are good. I only completed once but it was ~0.6 seconds faster than with HT.

Hi all, been struggling to get this board to play at all nice when trying for G1840 subs. Was running my z97i Plus fine at ~107-107.6 BCLK the other day and this board won't even run anything over 103... I get all sorts of error codes 9A, 15, 35, 53 as soon as I start touching BCLK in BIOS, tried with the different PLL settings but no luck there. Half of the time the board just shuts back down after 15 or so seconds, some of the time the power and reset buttons just doesn't do anything. Can't get the OC touch buttons to work to try to adjust in OS, they light up when I press them but have 0 effect on the clocks, tried this both with a G3258 and the G1840. …

I have a problem while overclocking G3258 (i have 2 cpus one binned for oc, 2-d ordinary) on Asus Maximus 6 Extreme (Z87 - use latest bios) and pair kits Corsair Vengeance 2800Mhz (hynix MFR). I can't run any pair in any ram slots on default 2800mhz on any of my g3258. Settings Vcore 1.10-1.25 air 3.2-4.2ghz, VCSSA 1.25V, VIO A/D 1.25V, Vmem 1.65-1.75V. I have used XMP, and manual timings even 15-15-15-2T and nothing Board doen't boot normally. I heared than G3258 have not good IMC for memory overclocking, is it true? Or case in something else :0 I do not have any -K cpus I know that one ram set can run on 3ghz, but only one stick is possible to run on 2800.

So I've been trying to OC my 4790k for this month's gigabyte OC thing, and I've run into a lot of issues trying to OC particularly my BCLK but also my uncore. I'm on a Gigabyte Z97X-SOC Force, so I should have more than a capable mobo, also with an AIO At 100Mhz base, I can do 4.8@1.32-35v core, which is pretty average. I can't change the strap at all, unless I downclock the bclk to result in a 100mhz base anyway (1.25gear, 80base). I can't really go above 102.5 Mhz on the base clock if I'm not touching the strap, and even then, it's quite fragile and often crashes. Even 101.5 is iffy. It's not the memory, because I've tried 2 different kits, and set multipliers …

Hi everyone, I am new here and I am wondering if anyone can tell me what is a good OC on an i5-4690K with a z97 motherboard? 4.4 (1.22v with Adapter mode on) or 4.5 or 4.6? I ran it yesterday at 4.6Ghz and if I recall voltages were around 1.379v. Not sure if that is to high for that chip. Thanks! I have been trying to get memory as stable as my Impact, using 2 different kits, this is the level I am trying to reach But with normal RTL's and IOL's, I have tested my SA Volts from 0.9 to 1.2, finding that 1.125 To be the sweet spot with my CPU, I am also running +.25V on both IOA And IOD, I have also found that I cannot run full tight, or even get into windows at 8-12-8 2600, needing 8-13-9 To get into windows at higher volts than the impact and still not passing what would at tighter timings, for reference on the Impact I was able to run 4-5-4-15-4-4-4-4-11-11-1, on this MPOWER I am only able to run 4-5-4-15 With the rest on auto, I will upload some BIOS Screensh…

Sorry, not really OC related. I hope I can ask though. I build a rig for a friend featuring famous Asrock Z87M OC Formula. No OC experiments with that as it came fresh from RMA. So everything should be ready to go for a stable rig featuring a high end, high quality motherboard. For one year everything was completely fine until my friend had the idea to remove the power plug... Bad idea. From now, pc got stuck in a on/off loop. However I can recover when I clear bios BUT everytime I remove the power, things happen to start again. You can read more about this here: I contacted technical service about this but of course, Asrock says now this is almost impossible…
