Hey guys, thought i would post the homemade DICE / LN2 pot that i designed and made. It starts with the base, it is a solid slug of copper that is 65mm x 50.8 that i purchased for 60 odd AUD on ebay after asking the seller if they could cut a custom length. I then had a 20mm hole drilled down the center of the slug about 45mm deep and the plan was to surround it with 10mm holes the same depth but that was quickly thwarted after finding out how hard copper is to drill as you will see in the pictures there is a smaller hole becasue i snapped a drill bit off in it, in total i broke 3 drill bits trying to drill this slug out but was able to get the other bits out. The copper …

Hello guys, since a few of you may have a 2080ti kingpin i wanted to share with you my solution on using the card in a daily custom watecooled pc. The issue is that if you remove the original cooler and mount a vga only cooler or something like this memory wont be cooled anymore. My solution was to modify a EK WB VGA only waterblock so it fit s the gpu with the mem cooling plate on. With a CNC i milled the cooling plate of the block to 37x37mm On the sides I milled 1,5mm deep. The result looks like this: and temps are great! The only thing you need then is new mounting screws. I took some M3 with nuts.

How well would this work for fighting condensation for long cascade bench sessions. I know it wont remove all condensation but I have seen people do things like this before and am wondering if it works well.

Been running into a lot of issues with X399 and LN2 on the MSI Creation. After about -50C or so I get random system freezes and the like. I have used the “slow mode” jumper and yes it does slow the system down, but doesn’t get rid of not being able to drop the chip down. Am I just better suited going with a X399M or Zenith Extreme Alpha? Both seem to have good LN2 support, or am I really doing something wrong here.

Hello, I wanna bench my 2080 ti in Dice but won't like to use Vaseline or anything like that. Is there any way to isolate the card which is removable without anything left? Is it safe to use only paper towels?

Hey all, i recently got my hands on a 1080ti for ln2 and have been encountering problems which i'm quite confident come from cracking thermal paste. I haven't been able to find much good info online on gpu pot mounting and other tricks people might use to help with cracking, paste applications, etc... so i thought i'd make a post asking for any and all advice so others facing the same issue can find answers. Setup: i've been using kryonaut on my 1080ti KPE and an early version of what i beleive is a kingpin fat. been having issues when i go cold, gpu will run benches 100% stock but as soon as i generate enough heat (be it thru just increasing voltages past ~1.4V, or ru…

Benching a i9 9900k, ROG Apex x Z370 and GTX 1080Ti SLI ? I had great success this time. The mobo ran great and when I wanted to run one GTX 1080Ti, shut down flip the dip switches, power back up. CB at -122c yet under load I saw -130c, no running full pot yet. I benched it lite this time....lol Made 31 subs with 30Lt's of Ln2, 7 1/2 hrs benching... it was a BLAST....Yeah Made time to run this...https://hwbot.org/submission/4175899_techjesse_3dmark_vantage___extreme_2x_geforce_gtx_1080_ti_98036_marks I like this one too... https://hwbot.org/submission/4175912_techjesse_3dmark___cloud_gate_2x_geforce_gtx_1080_ti_85168_marks Shut down and boote…

Hi there! I've been out of the loop for a bit, and recently gotten back into dry ice/ln2 cooling. I'm noticing that I have a huge temperature delta between the base of my pot and the CPU cores, with the cores often hitting positive temps despite the pot being at -50c. Is this normal? I can't measure negative cpu temps so I have no way of really knowing if my chip isn't running all that cold - which is annoying. So, to my question, are people delidding these CPUs to change the stock paste when cooling with LN2/Dry ICE? If so, are you then reapplying the IHS, or just running on bare-die? Trying to get a handle on things here.

Evga is currently (Nov2018) selling the $250 msrp Epower V for $99 on ebay in the usa. They still list it as msrp on their website though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-EPOWER-V-100-UV-0600-BR/263766099046?epid=21019846172&hash=item3d69af4466:g:0PoAAOSwZ-Ba2ofi

I'm thinking about buying one or 2 XL-60s from Taylor Wharton, but according to some sources i have found preassurized dewars have way worse storrage time then unpreassurized ones... Has anyone got experience with preassurized dewars or even the speciffic TWs i mentioned? Any feedback would be appreciated Allso what would you pay for them cause i have no idea about fair market price for the preassurized kind

Hey mates, Im looking for an LN2 Supply with rentable devars in northern germany, best in Hannover. I searched for any local suppliers, but just found Linde AG. Out of curiousity I contacted them and they offered a supply in a tank facility if the demand is at least 1000 cubic meters per month. 1 cubic meter is 1000 Liters btw. So Im looking for other options, can you help me find another supplier? Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

Due to some interest in direct die benching I made two direct die IHS last week to start this topic. Eventually I'd like to have this solution for Skylake-X, Kaby Lake-X and Coffee Lake (Kaby Lake and Skylake too). In this week I'm going to make another ones including the modification of the pot base. I'll keep this topic updated.

Hi, Im trying overclock my i3 7350K with nitrogen cooling. The problem is that i cant go pass 1,52v on core voltage in bios. I have managed to pass 1,52v in intel extreme tuning utility, but then it is current limit throttling and it start after I put 1,52v or more. My motherboard is MSI Z270-A Pro. Any tips? On more question how can I higher core voltage in bios?

Working lately on improved Kaby Lake IHS. Ended up with this. In comparison to original one it has some advantages: - 20% bigger contact area - top surface is perfectly flat, not "almost flat" after sanding - design is optimized for more rigidity - I made couple of different depths of core pocket on the bottom, to test which one is the best, original one has 0,35mm, I've got 0,35, 0,40 and 0,45mm (plus I want to use adhesive on the bottom to protect pcb), glue thickness is 0,15mm, glue needs to be removed completely in this case. Actually they're going to be tested, hopefully some feedback will be posted very soon in this thread. It's just a preparation for…

When prepping my Apex IX for LN2 use, I decided to use some LET to coat nearly the entire board. I used a brand called Star Brite (mostly because it was the only brand at home depot that didn't come in black) and things appeared to be going great at first. I was using the brush method and switched to pouring once I got a feel for the consistency and had some more open board areas. Everything looked great.... at first. Upon removing the regular tape I had protecting the ram slots, I discovered that this product has some major capillary action (attraction) in some areas. It actually started to climb its way UP the slots, much higher than the poured or painted levels. It als…

Hi, I did my first DICE session rescently on a Z97 SOC Force and initially did a quick CPU frequency test uninsulated just to check everything worked. It worked but predictably stopped booting after ~30 mins. I dried the board and it booted on air. Then I proceeded to insulate it with vaseline - this is where it stopped posting, in fact it cuts out so early that I don't even get a post code. I tried with two good CPUs and multiple RAM sticks and it still doesn't work - what's the best way to remove the vaseline completely? Buildzoid says dishwasher is the way to go but I just want to be 100% before messing any more with this board that isn't easy to get in this part…

There is increasing research being done on thermal performance between thermal pastes for extreme cooling conditions including work from Der8auer, Rauf, Dancop just to name a few and now a very interesting review from Splave using a unique direct die cooling method compares the thermal performance between Kingpin cooling blue paste and Thermal grizzly kryonaut was posted today I recently had a chance to discuss the testing method with Splave and got to admit the amount of work and dedication invested to solve these research questions is simply mind blowing. Thanks for sharing this valuable info Splave and keep pushing!!! Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut VS KPx Hig…

With the last years development with cracking skylake, introduction of kryonaut, the “huge blob methodâ€, kingpin blue paste, full pot pascal, die shrinking etc. TIM quality has never been more important than now. So, I decided to do a few tests with the most popular brands, and also to share some of my experiences with different TIMs and setups. One important note is that this information is presented as is and the testing is obviously not done in a proper scientific way with a large number of tests of each paste etc. I don’t have enough time for that… But I have done my best to do a proper comparison. However, please note that what I present here are not facts. It…

Guys, are u remember at your first LN2 overclocking? There will be many oldschool guys and I would like to see some shared things, photos, funny stuffs etc propably 2010 year I found few photos of my second LN2 experience. I was there with few friends from Czech hardware forum, no one of us had experience with LN2 OC and we had also 3 daily "highend" computers cooled by aircooling. It was fun, bad I did so many mistakes... At isolation setup, at fans (In reality it was intake airflow directly to the board , no outtake airflow) First experience with coldbug (WTF is it, I thought that time, very bad control of CB issues) But overall, it was fu…
