HWBOT Competitions

  1. Started by yosarianilives,

Creating new thread for this poll so that people can vote in it: Okay, looks like we're gonna go with HD 5450. For benches I have a couple ideas for ones that should be gpu bound, mainly newer 3dmark. Although to make sure that the contest is not about cpu OC I think we should do like previous comps and set something like a 5 ghz quad core limit (I'd be open to allowing downcoring but for simplicity probably better to say only native quads). For benches I'm thinking that something like Skydiver, Unigine heaven (should be weak enough to not need xtreme), 3dmark 11 performance, or 3dmark06/05 although definitely comment with suggestions. Ideally we'll target the top 3 …

  8. Started by websmile,

Soon it will be time for old school is best school season 4. The competition series had good feedback over last years, so of course we decided to keep it alive and go for another season. This thread is meant organize the five (5) rounds of season 4, our plan is to give the participants the chance to create their own rounds and thereby take in experiences of last years plus the knowledge on old hardware accumulated in community. It might take some work and discussion, but we want each round designed by another bencher, so we start early to have some time to get this done. What do we need and want: 1. 5 rounds of 3 or 4 stages focused on same hardware (socket/cpus/…

  11. Hello OCers! I just want to tell you: Today I added 3 WRs and many 1st places with 56 cores / 112 threads at Dual Intel Xeon 8173M. I have never used 56 cores before! Funny thing - I've lost 70 global points and 30 or more HW points! Adding results makes my points drop? With differentiation of platforms by core amount for HW Points? Last time I added some i9-7980XE results I've lost almost 200 points, later I added i9-7960x and lost 70 points! What the duck is going on with rev. 7 ? How can that be? Also note - I don't get any info about that massive drops at my wall! If adding results outcomes in loss of point than maybe I shall delete WR? Hu…

  22. Started by Leeghoofd,

So Matt did some interesting testing and confirmed the older AMD Llano AGESA is boosting performance in GPUPI versus newer AGESA versions. Question is simple for the ongoing Team Cup competition: 1) We allow these subs (as technically there is nothing wrong or buggy) 2) Not allowing these... I leave it up to the community to decide, since we still have 50 days to rebench and it is a pretty fast benchmark we can change the moderation approach...
