Hey all, You may know me from the prodigious amount of PSC DDR3 that I binned and sold over the years, maybe some strong air results, but not so much from actual BOT submissions or scores. Although I subbed frequently when I first joined the bot, and went cold a couple of times, most of my time in OC became focused on binning for the sake of better understanding and measuring the limits of what hardware can achieve, not climbing the leaderboards. Basically, I tended to be more research-oriented about OC than competitive. Anyway, my single biggest project was binning PSC, and I always had this idea of creating "The PSC Report," a gigantic summary of…

Hello peoples. I had a random stick of OEM Samsung DDR3 lying around and decided to try it out as a laugh. Funnily enough it would boot 2800C9 @2V and then I realised it was 2GB ds as well - huh. So I tried tightening timings and found that (unlike the typical d-die 4GB ds sticks) : RP was weaker. RFC was stronger. RDRD set at 4 is actually possible and stable. ? The three RDWR timings can be set tighter as well. I bought some more 2GB ds sticks to test and even some 1GB ss sticks. The 1GB sticks clock a lot better than the 2GB sticks, however the performance is awful in 32M (as they are single sided). No noticeable improvements in tighteni…

I've been playing with my hypers on a Crosshair IV using a 555 BE, and it refuses to POST at higher than 244MHz bus with the 1:4 RAM divider. The funny thing is that it is fully stable at 242MHz bus with 1:4, and the lower ram dividers work at the higher bus as well. I did find some stuff on this forum about enabling ECC on non-ECC ram and that was supposed to help mem OC, but when I quickly played with it, it didn't seem to help. So the question is, anyone have any tips for getting higher ram clocks working? Or do you just need a Thuban IMC to push higher? Edit: I forgot to add that I've tried PSC quickly as well as newer/older BIOSes, but no real differen…

Hi Folks, I am looking for a "good" tight set of subtimings for DDR3 Elpida Hypers, run on air. For some Dom GT and Kingston HyperX 2000C8. The 666 18 1t and 777 21 1t, 888 24 1t and alike. I looked, I looked, but haven 't found a screenshot with Asrock timing configurator Thanks. Cheers

Hi guys i wanna get low mouse letecy for flickshot i spend 3 days and test in PUBG I want to get the minimum mouse input delay, and how to reduce the values of trfc2 trfc4 minimum breeds 60 how to set them less? I think they greatly affect my level of play in pubg. I watch how Shroud plays and I understand that he has very good settings. I am very looking for an experienced overclocker at low timings I need help choosing RAM and CPU to get 1600cl6-8 ddr 4 and really want to understand the impact of different timings in the game! Hey guys, let's talk and post results of the hynix djr ic here. You already know that these broke memory frequency WR on Z490, well things only got better on Z590. With the better IMC from RocketLake now these sticks can be used for competitive benching as well. I had a shot with them on Asus Maximus XIII Apex and things are interesting. Let me put it this way. On air a decent Hynix DJR Kit is most of the times better than a very good B-die kit. On cold if your Cpu can handle both high core clock and memory clock at same time, a decent Hynix DJR kit is similar to a great B-die kit. To tell the whole story, Hynix DJR is way easier to handle, no …

This thread is a copy from XS. After the hack I was afraid that this thread was completely lost, but @FUGGER was kind enough to check another back-up for me and I found the first two posts of the thread in there. I decided to share this thread with all of you to save it from being lost forever. ______________ Recently I became interested in strap tweaking again. I had only used some of them on the Commando in the past, but now I want to try them on a newer chipset. Unfortunately many of the old threads are either gone or screenshots are missing. Therefore I decided to collect all available info in this thread and copy all the screenshots to my personal imgur acco…

Hey had to chance to get some X58 gear, was bit before my time in benching even tho I had this platform before I never knew much about OC.So I had it for very short time and done some lite test on air, will continue to post some air result then move onto cold cpu and cold PSC.....My goal as I don't own hypers and like freezing PSC is to see how good I can get PSC going on this platform under LN2.... Couple quick test all air PSC 1.65v,thinking when I try ln2 all should see nice boost on uncore as it seems to love uncore, also hoping PSC run 2400Mhz+ 6-8-6 with tighter subs, will post results as I do them.Is a really nice platform and im really liking this board, need to…

  19. bought a kit of bdie off ebay and only noticed now when i decided to take the heat spreaders off that one of the capacitors or resistors has broken off i dont have a capacitor tester but the multimeter reads 40ohms one way and 150ohms the other way so i needs help sourcing a replacement it works fine even oc's to 3733 pretty easily but idk what affect this has on my oc could explain why its a pain to tighten some sub timings

  20. Started by Bruno,

Hi guys, I discovered we can easily know which PCB a memory has, just by looking at the module. No need to look under the heat sink. My finding is this: A1 has a resistor capacitor above the slot cut and other resistors near it. A2 has only one resistor capacitor, a bit on the left from the slot cut and he is all alone there. The image shows A1 on the left and A2 on the right. My teammate GGI78 also checked his G.SKill kits and confirmed my idea. Important: you have to look on the side with the label, where the chips are. Please check your kits and confirm.

Thought it be fun to start memory oc thread on 1156 platform, I've not long been testing this platform but I like it, here's a couple runs I did a while ago on cold PSC. I've spent little more time on it since then and will post some more results with PSC and hypers. All welcome to post some results, if you don't you know I will ?let us know your memory and board of choice, I currently using the P55a ud5 Gigabyte and have a P55a ud6 on the way to try

Thought it was time to start collecting information in one place about this new miracle IC that the OGS guys used to smash the memory frequency WR. There are a bunch of different IC codes for "8Gbit Revision E" and while the characteristics should be broadly similar there's definitely some variance - not sure how much of that is down to binning for kits and how much is down to differences between different Micron models (JEDEC bin, temperature bin, maybe package?). These are found from micron's ic code lookup tool, and model numbers are interpreted with the help of micron's 8Gbit DDR4 datasheet. The known standard (1Gx8 layout) Rev.E IC codes, excluding Z9 series E…

Hey guys, what kits have you binned so far? What have your results looked like? What timings/volt combos are you binning for? I'm thinking of grabbing one of the 3200C14 kits but others have been pushing saying the 4000 and 4133 kits have been of much higher quality. Those kits have sold out immediately every time they've been in stock so there has to be lots of people buying them. Context is Z97, giga SOC Force motherboard. Micron D9KPT memories. If I understand correctly, a value for tRTP of less than (tCAS+tBurst) - tRP should be meaningless, right? Since the page can't be closed until it's finished with tBurst, even if it's finished precharging. In my example case, I have tCAS 5 tRP 5 tRTP 3 and 4 tBurst is always 4 (Since a 4 bit burst still takes 4 clock cycles) Some SuperPi and AIDA64 results: (666mhz memory is why it's 7 minutes ~46 seconds) tRTP 3 1 …

  25. Common wisdom seems to be that if it's after week 1020, it's going to be T/R instead of X. Does this apply only to low bin, or to all G.Skill PSC? And what about other manufacturers with easily identifiable date codes ex. Kingston, Corsair? I haven't got many rams, but all of my PSC is X series, even tho some dates are after week 20. (2) PI 1600 7-8-7 date 1050, X series (3) Ripjaws 2000 9-9-9 date 1021, X series (3) Trident 2000 9-9-9 date 1008, X series (2) Sector 5 2400 9-11-9 Don't know how to parse date code, X series Side note - did anyone very recently grab some 2000 9-9-9 flares from ebay? If so were they X or T/R? Bonus question…
